About CZ Rifles
Overview of CZ Rifles
Česká zbrojovka a.s. Uhersk Brod (CZUB) is a Czech engineering firm based in Uhersk Brod.
Its main business is the manufacture of service, hunting, and sporting firearms. It is owned by Colt CZ Group SE, a Czech holding company.
CZUB is one of the Czech Republic’s largest exporters, with products sold in over 100 countries around the world. The company is one of the world’s top ten small arms manufacturers, and one of only five that manufactures automatic firearms.
CZ rifles for hunting and sport are considered among the best long firearms on the market.
The History of CZ Rifles
In 1919 Jihočeská zbrojovka was founded in Strakonice. In its early years, the company was largely engaged in the production of aircraft machine guns.
After World War II (1945 – 1992), the Česká zbrojovka joint-stock business was nationalized, and its branch factory at Uhersk Brod later became the main Czechoslovak maker of small weapons.
Its most notable items from the immediate post-war period are Sa vz. 23 submachine guns, chambered in the common 919mm Parabellum cartridge (Later the 7.6225mm Tokarev in vz. 24/26 after Czechoslovakia joined the Warsaw Pact).
The Sa vz. 23 was the first production submachine gun featuring a telescoping bolt that wraps around the barrel, making the vz. 26 shorter and more compact than other submachine guns of the period.
Up until 1984 the Sa vz. 58 assault rifle, chambered for the 7.6239 mm cartridge, was an original design alternative to the Soviet AK-47 and manufactured in Uhersk Brod for the national armed forces as well as for export.
The Sa vz. 61 korpion was presented in 1961 to span the gap between submachine guns and semiautomatic pistols.
The designer Frantiek Kouck designed the CZ 75 semi-automatic pistol 1969. This firearm is known for its faultless ergonomics and unique double-action trigger mechanism, and is most popular.
In 1992, Česká zbrojovka was privatized and became a joint-stock company focusing on the development and production of high-quality firearms.
Česká zbrojovka a.s’ sposition on the global weapons market has been greatly increased by the 1997 founding of its distribution and service subsidiary company, CZ-USA. Operations in California began in 1998, but has since relocated to Kansas City, Kansas.
Česká zbrojovka a.s. acquired the firearms branch of Zbrojovka Brno, a.s at the beginning of 2006, with its primary focus the production and development of break action rifles.
In 2008 it became a subsidiary of Česká zbrojovka a.s. and was renamed Zbrojovka BRNO, s.r.o. in 2010. CZ also acquired Dan Wesson Firearms in 2005through its subsidiary CZ-USA.
Since 2018, Česká zbrojovka a.s. is a part of the international holding Česká zbrojovka Group SE.
In 2021, CZ acquired Colt’s Manufacturing Company and their Canadian division, Colt Canada.
Unique Features of CZ Rifles
Ceska zbrojovka a.s. provides customers the opportunity to customize a firearm to their exact specifications.
The frame and slide colour, the type of sights (including a red dot sight), the size and colour of the controls, the magazine capacity, and much more can all be customized.
CZ rifles have long been prized for their accuracy. This is especially true in the world of rimfire competition. While the popularity of the disciplines fluctuates, and stock and barrel configurations change to meet the demands of each game, the heart of the rifle remains constant.
The CZ rifle barrel is still the best in the world for production rifles.
CZ bolt action rifle barrels are lapped for accuracy at the factory, so no “break in” period is required.
While both the CZ varmint and sporter weight models have high-quality barrels, the varmint is more forgiving over a wider range of loads due to its heavier and stiffer construction than the thinner-barreled sporter weight models.
Pros & Cons of CZ Rifles
CZ manufactures a well-made, stylish, dependable, and accurate weapon at an affordable price. The 75 series is exceptionally well-made and has withstood the test of time. Guns like the cz 52 and cz 70 have a distinct history and a sturdy design. The cz-70 is most likely a superior Walther ppk to the Walther ppk. Their Mauser pattern rifles are among the best available (ok not the forced labor ones). Their polymer-framed pistol is everything the Glock should have become.

The Best Gear for CZ Rifles
The CZ 3-9×42 Scope is a compact scope with outstanding features and versatile optics. It has an industry-leading field of view, quick ocular focus, and generous eye relief.
To maximise light transmission through each optical element surface, a proprietary coating process is used.
It also includes a Double HD lens, which is created by chemically laminating multiple extra-low dispersion lenses to create a single, multi-layer high-performance optical lens.
Laminating multiple lenses reduces light reflection on the surface of the lenses, resulting in images with higher resolution and colour contrast, as well as fewer chromatic aberrations.
Other gear available for CZ rifles include a Tactical Torch, Red Dot Aimpoint Microt-2, Scr., and Steel Tritium Sight Set.
Caring for Your CZ Rifles
Technical support for CZ products is provided by a global network of CZ service partners, with qualified employees certified in the upkeep and repair of all firearms manufactured by them. They can consult on the use of all CZ firearms and the tuning of selected CZ firearms.
A new CZ’s bore does not need to be meticulously cleaned. Simply thread 2 to 5 patches through it, or thread a bore snake through it once or twice.
All that remains is to remove any excess protective lubricant from the bore and ensure that it is clear of obstructions.
